On the morning of February 15, Zhao Wen, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Committee of CPPCC and convener of Shanghai IP Joint Conference, visited Shanghai High People's Court to investigate the trials of intellectual property cases and construction of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court in the company of Lu Guoqiang, Director of Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration and Secretary-General of Shanghai IP Joint Conference. Cui Yadong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Shanghai High People's Court, presided over the conference and delivered a speech. Wang Qiuliang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Shanghai No. 3 Intermediate People's Court (Shanghai Intellectual Property Court), and Mao Ronghua, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of Shanghai High People's Court, reported on the work of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court and IP trials of all Shanghai courts respectively, with emphasis on the difficulties, problems and suggestions faced by/offered for Shanghai Intellectual Property Court and IP trials. President Cui Yadong pointed out that according to the decision of NPC Standing Committee, the Supreme Court should report on three years' pilot work of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court. As Shanghai Intellectual Property Court has been established for two years, it should assess and analyze the prominent problems encountered in its reform and development. After the debriefing, Vice Mayor Zhao Wen pointed out that all Shanghai courts, including Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, have played an important role among the member units and other units present at the IP Joint Conference and a leading role in IPR protection. Regarding institution and mechanism problems in the process of the development of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, she, as a member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC National Committee and the convener of Shanghai IP Joint Conference, has a responsibility to promote and help to resolve them at the national level and Shanghai municipal level, so as to better promote the development of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court.
