On the afternoon of March 8 and March 13, President of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court,Wang Qiuliang, convened a seminar on IPR trials in Xuhui District People's Court of Shanghai and Pudong New Area People's Court of Shanghai respectively to investigate the IPR trials of six grass-roots courts, which were attended by Vice President of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, Li Shulan, President of Xuhui District People's Court of Shanghai, Wu Jinshui, as well as vice presidents in charge and intellectual property tribunal directors of Pudong New Area, Huangpu, Yangpu, Xuhui, Minhang and Putuo Districts People's Courts. Six grass-roots courts reported on their IPR trials, problems and expectations and suggestions on the development of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court respectively. Vice President Li Shulan gave a briefing on the court's trials of IPR cases and team building, and put forward suggestions from the following aspects: strengthening the normality of quality analysis of second-instance cases, serving the national strategy and overall situation of Shanghai, strengthening the study of case classification rules and team training linkage, etc. President Wang Qiuliang appreciated the great support of six grass-roots courts over the past year. He pointed out that recently Secretary Han Zheng, President Zhou Qiang and other leaders had given important instructions on the Summary Report on Two Years' Reform Work of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, which not only supported and encouraged the IPR trial work of Shanghai courts, but also raised new and higher requirements on us. This year is crucial for three years' reform work of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, during which period listening to views and suggestions is of great significance for the court to further studying and implementing the spirits of leaders' instructions and line meetings as well as planning and carrying out its work this year down to earth. Shanghai Intellectual Property Court will sort out the opinions and suggestions raised by grass-roots courts, further strengthen the summary of adjudication methods of similar cases, establishment of liaison system, reporting of retrial cases one by one and communication between superior and lower courts, etc., and promote the information exchange and sharing between superior and lower courts to push Shanghai Intellectual Property Court to a new level.
