On the afternoon of May 11, Shanghai Intellectual Property Court held an IPR trial research conference at Minhang District People's Court of Shanghai, attended by Vice President of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, Li Shulan, Director of No. 3 Civil Tribunal of Shanghai High People's Court, Liu Junhua, leaders of No. 1 Intellectual Property Tribunal, No. 2 Intellectual Property Tribunaland Technical Investigation Division of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, vice presidents ofMinhang and Putuo District People's Court of Shanghai who are in charge of intellectual property work, leaders of No. 3 Civil Tribunals of Pudong New Area, Huangpu, Yang Pu, Xu Hui, Minhang and Putuo District People's Court of Shanghai, as well as judgerepresentatives of all courts. Six grass-roots courts reported the difficult legal problems they encountered in court trials recently and matters that need to be coordinated by higher courts, while relevant tribunal heads of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court answered the legal questions raised by grass-roots courts one by one. The participants also discussed some difficult and common issues. Tribunal Director Liu Junhua affirmed the research of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court and gave guidance on relevant difficult legal problems with due consideration of the IPR trial situation and legal value judgment of Shanghai courts. Vice President Li Shulan pointed out that after investigating the trial work of grass-roots courts early this this, President Wang Qiuliang conducted special researches on the basis of opinions and suggestions of grass-roots courts, and decided to hold regular research meetings to strengthen the communication and liaison with grass-roots courts, so as to give play to the supervisory and guiding role of courts of second instance and promote the unification of law enforcement. It's hoped that these research meetings will resolve difficult and common legal problems in IPR trials effectively and improve the judicial competence of courts to produce fine works, thereby bringing to full play judicature's dominant role in IPR protection and providing an effective judicial guarantee forthe implementation of major strategies of the State and Shanghai.
