Chen Yinand Cui YadongAttended the Symposium Held to Commemorate the 3rd Anniversary of Establishment of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court and Delivered Speeches

On the afternoon of December 20, Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People's Court (Shanghai Intellectual Property Court) held a symposium to commemorate the 3rd Anniversary of the court's establishment. Chen Yin, Standing Member of CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Secretary of Politics and Law Committee of Shanghai, and Cui Yadong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and President of Shanghai High People's Court, attended the symposium and delivered speeches respectively. The guests from the Internal and Judicial Affairs Committee of Shanghai Municipal People's Congress, Legislative Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal Government, Committee for Social and Legal Affairs of Shanghai Municipal Committee of CPPCC, Shanghai People's Procuratorate, Shanghai Customs, Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration and Shanghai Bar Association, were also present. Wang Qiuliang, President of Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People's Court (Shanghai Intellectual Property Court), presided over the symposium and reported the court work over the past three years.

In his speech, President Cui Yadong fully affirmed the achievements of Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People's Court (Shanghai Intellectual Property Court) in respect of the establishment of trial mechanisms, case jurisdiction and judicial accountability system, etc. Next, it's expected to continue efforts on the following three aspects: 1) continue to promote the reform of cross-administrative-region trials, and realize full coverage of the reform of centralized jurisdiction over cross-administrative-region cases relying on Shanghai Railway Transport Intermediate Court and Shanghai Railway Transportation Court; 2) continue to promote the reform and innovation of IP trials, improve the IP litigation system, and become a pioneer in IP reform and innovation; 3) give full play to the functions of Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People's Court and Shanghai Intellectual Property Court whilst focusing on the overall situation of Shanghai, so as to ensure that the work is planned and advanced as part of the overall task. 

Secretary Chen Yin pointed out that over the past three years since its establishment, Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People's Court (Shanghai Intellectual Property Court) has been following the right development orientation, dared to make innovations and worked solidly. It has not only accumulated valuable, reproducible and promotable experience in exploring the cross-administrative-region courts and intellectual property courts, but also made outstanding contributions to implementing the national strategies concerning Pilot Free Trade Zone, etc. as well as building Shanghai into four centers. The next step is to continue work on the following five aspects: 1) resolutely implement the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee, and grasp the new requirements of reform and development in the new era; 2) take initiatives centering around the central tasks, and comprehensively serve the overall situation of Shanghai's economic and social development; 3) keep in mind the mission of justice for the people and strive to safeguard social fairness and justice; 4) persist in pioneering and innovation, and stay firm to carry out comprehensive and integrated reform of the judicial system; 5) insist on strict management and build a high-quality and professional judicial contingent. 

The participants watched the Campaign Film for the Work of Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People's Court (Shanghai Intellectual Property Court) Over the Past Three Years, while 2 representatives of cadres and police officers gave their speeches respectively. Qi Yazhou, Director of Shanghai Customs Anti-smuggling Bureau, and Yu Weifeng, President of Shanghai Bar Association, delivered speeches respectively as representatives of the participants, and extended a sincere wish to Shanghai Intellectual Property Court for a better future.
