On the afternoon of January 25, Li Shulan, Vice President of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, metJodie L. Kelley,Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Business Software Alliance (BSA), and his delegation, in the company of Qian Guangwen,PresidingJudgeof Shanghai Intellectual Property Court’s Intellectual PropertyTribunal No.2, and some other judges.

Vice President Li extended welcome toVice PresidentJodie L. Kelley and his delegation, accompanied them to watch the feature film (English version) of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, and briefed them on Shanghai Intellectual Property Court and IPR judicial protection since its establishment. Vice President Li also made a detailed introduction ofthe trials, main characteristics and judicial protection measures concerning computer software cases handled by Shanghai Intellectual Property Court.

Vice PresidentJodie L. Kelleyexpressed his gratitude toVice President Li for her detailed introduction and spoke highly of the work achievements made since the foundation of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, especially the leading role it plays in the trials of computer software cases. He also expressed his appreciation and thanks for Shanghai Intellectual Property Court’s creation of "four-in-one" technical facts ascertaining mechanism, evidence preservation measures taken in handling cases as well as increase of tort compensation. Vice PresidentJodie L. Kelley further noted that BSA would like to share the latest development trends of computer software industry, relevant demandsfor law as well as the latest technology development with Shanghai Intellectual Property Court.

Vice President Li showed the intention to strengthen the communication and exchange with international industry associations such as BSA, so as to mutually promote the development of IPR judicial protection and better regulate and guide computer software market environment and rights protection.
