On the afternoon of November 15, Luo Dongchuan, Vice President and Member of the Party Group of the Supreme People's Court, visited the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court (hereinafter referred to as SIPC) for investigation. Chen Meng, Member of the Party Group and Vice President of the Shanghai High People's Court accompanied Luo Dongchuan in the investigation. President Chen Yajuan, Vice President Li Shulan of SIPC, Full-time Member of Adjudication Committee Chen Huizhen,and persons-in-charge of relevant departments attended the informal discussion. President Chen Yajuan reported the effortsmade bySIPC to serve and safeguard the overall interests of the State and Shanghai, to further reform and innovation of the intellectual property trial mechanism, to create a soundlaw-based environment for intellectual property protection and enhancing theinfluenceof judicial protection, etc., and she also briefedthe work plan for the near future. Vice President Luo Dongchuan pointed out that, the four-year operationof SIPC fully testifies to the sagacityof the central government in establishing intellectual property courts. SIPC undertakes the special mission of advancing the implementation of the national strategy. It willconscientiously study and implement the keynote speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the opening ceremony of the first China International Import Expo and the essenceof hisspeech during thevisit to Shanghai, carry out the work in all aspectswhile bearing in mind the national innovation-driven development strategy and the strategy of building a world power of intellectual property rights, and become a trail blazer for the courts across the country.Vice President Luo Dongchuan emphasized that it was imperative to keep firmly in mind that protectingintellectual property rights is to protect innovation, equally protect the Chinese and foreign parties concerned, fully utilize Shanghai's favorable conditions to actively conduct international exchanges, and improve the quality of intellectual property trials, ultimately building it as a role model for the specialized courts nationwide.Constant efforts will be made to improve the litigation system related to intellectual property rights,tailor-make systems according to the development stage of the economy and society, and enable SIPCto take the lead in reform and innovation. Efforts will be stepped up to promote the application of IT technologies, improvingthe popularizationof ITand AI technologies. Whole-process online litigationwill be promoted to improve the efficiency of litigation, make things convenient forthe parties concerned, and help SIPCto lead the chargein terms of IT technology application.
