A Group of People Led by Zheng Jianbang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC & Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the RCCK, Inspected SIPC

On the afternoon of March 26, Zheng Jianbang, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), led the Central Research Group of the RCCK to the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court (SIPC) to hold a symposium on “improving the construction of the rule of law and optimizing the business environment.” Mr. Zheng was accompanied by Zhang Bojun, member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Committee and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the RCCK, Feng Gong, member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the RCCK, Gao Xiaomei, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the RCCK, Director of Shanghai Committee of the CPC and Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, and Fu Jinlian, Deputy Chief of the No.2 Civil Tribunal of the Supreme People’s Court. The symposium was hosted by Zhang Bin, member of the Party Group and Vice President of Shanghai HighPeople’s Court (SHPC). Li Shulan, Vice President of SIPC, Chen Huizhen, a full-time member of the Adjudgement Committee, and heads of relevant departments of SHPC and SIPC participated in the symposium. Ms. Li Shulan gave a general introduction of SIPC. Focusing on the protection of intellectual property rights in private businesses, she introduced how they had addressed the difficulties in the protection of rights, solved technical disputes by innovating the working mechanism, and created an environment for intellectual property rights protection. She also offered suggestions from the three aspects, i.e., legislation and policy, law enforcement and administration of justice, and enterprises and society. On behalf of SHPC, Mr. Zhang Bin thanked and welcomed Mr. Zheng Jianbang and his team, hoping they could offer suggestions to help Shanghai courts do a better job in optimizing the business environment. Mr. Zheng Jianbang said that the inspection is an important activity for the democratic parties to advise the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on the administration of government through thematic research. Protecting intellectual property rights is an important aspect of the construction of the business environment, and the CPC Central Committee attaches great importance to that aspect. In just four years, SIPC has made great achievements in the judicial protection of intellectual property rights. However, the pressure and challenges ahead are still huge, and we hope that SIPC will make greater contributions. The experience and suggestions presented by SIPC are very important, and the research group will fully consider them and try to include them all in the research report, so as to further improve the construction of the business environment in China.
