From April 1 to 3, Li Shulan, Vice President of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, led a team composed of judges and technical investigators to visit Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court, Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court and Qianhai Cooperation District Court. Ms. Li Shulan and her team held talks with President Wang Haiqing and Vice President Li Chisen of Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court, Vice Presidents Long Guangwei and Fu Jinjiang of Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court, Vice President Zhang Bin of Qianhai Court, and heads of relevant departments. In Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court, SIPC learned about the innovation of the compensation mechanism for infringement of intellectual property rights, the application of the technical fact-finding system, the role of technical investigators, and the construction of the court culture. The two sides shared the latest construction and development of each other. In Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court, SIPC learned about the reform of the litigation system regarding the intellectual property rights, the reform of case handling, and the construction of intelligent court. The two sides shared their practices and experience in optimizing the management of intellectual property rights trials and in innovating the technical investigators system. In Shenzhen Qianhai Court, SIPC learned about the trial of FTZ-related cases, the implementation of the quality strategy, diversified means of dispute resolution, and the operation and management of the trial team. The two sides shared with each other their practices and experience in handling the “difficulty in serving” and in applying technical investigators. These visits will help SIPC further deepen the comprehensive and supporting reform of the judicial system, enhance the reform and innovation of the litigation system in the field of intellectual property rights trial, and accelerate its pace to become a world-class intellectual property court.
