On the afternoon of April 23, three days before the World Intellectual Property Day, Zhangjiang Science City Construction and Management Office and Pudong New Area Intellectual Property Office hosted the “Zhangjiang Science City Intellectual Property Forum.” The theme of this forum is “Intellectual Property Escorts Innovation and Development of Enterprises.” More than 100 people from government bodies, industry associations, enterprises, research institutes, universities and service institutions attended the forum. Judge Chen Huizhen, a full-time member of SIPC’s Adjudgement Committee, was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the forum. Entitled Looking at the Intellectual Property Work of Enterprises from the Perspective of Trial and combining with her own trial experience, Judge Chen Huizhen’s speech has made a detailed analysis and explanation of the problems found in the creation, management, application and protection of intellectual property rights of enterprises in the proceedings. Then she made the following suggestions for enterprises to improve their intellectual property work: establishing the right concepts on innovation and entrepreneurship, establishing long-term systems, strengthening management, initiating proceedings in the right way, and safeguarding your rights in accordance with law. She also answered the questions raised by the business representatives present. As one of the serial activities of “Judge Chen Huizhen’s Studio,” this speech uses the real-life trials as examples to explain the importance of intellectual property work in enterprises. The business representatives all said that the speech is very practical and close to the actual situation of the businesses. It inspires them a lot in the application and management of intellectual property rights, and enhances their confidence in innovation and entrepreneurship.
