On the morning of July 23, Judge Chen Huizhen’s Studio participated in the 2019 Patent Application Engineer Training in Shanghai hosted by the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology. Judge Chen Huizhen, a full-time Judicial Committee member of the Shanghai Higher People’s Court, gave a two-hour lecture on the “Main Types and Cases Analysis of Intellectual Property Disputes Involving Scientific and Technical Personnel.” From the three aspects of intellectual property disputes related to the service invention and innovation, the departure of scientific and technical personnel and the development and application of creative results, Judge Chen Huizhen gave a vivid and detailed analysis based on typical cases, explaining that in the process of service invention and innovation, after leaving office and in daily work, scientific and technical personnel need to improve legal awareness of intellectual property, standardize their performance of duties, and avoid legal risks so as to protect themselves and the enterprises from litigation. Two series of “Typical Cases on Intellectual Property Protection” prepared by Judge Chen Huizhen’s Studio were also distributed at the meeting. The training organized by the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology aims to enhance the technological innovation and achievement transformation capabilities of SMEs in Shanghai and the scientific and technical personnel’s legal awareness of intellectual property, so as to jointly create a society that “respects knowledge, protects innovation, and promotes entrepreneurship.” A total of more than 400 enterprise representatives attended the meeting. Representatives of participating enterprises generally believed that the explanations given by Judge Chen Huizhen were pertinent and pragmatic, and the case manual was easy to understand, which provided effective guidance for scientific and technical personnel to regulate their actions of innovation and creation.
