On the morning of October 14, Mr. Wang Qiuliang, President of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court (SIPC), attended by invitation the “Seminar on Notarial Protection of IP Rights in the Context of Construction of Shanghai into a Scientific and Innovation Center”, at which he also delivered a speech. Hosted by Shanghai Oriental Notary Public Office, the seminar was attended by, among others, Lu Weidong, Director of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice, Shi Hansheng, Deputy Director of the Instruction Division for Lawyers’ Notary Work of the Ministry of Justice, LvGuoqiang, Director of Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration, and Cao Yang, Secretary General of China Notary Association.In his speech, President Wang Qiuliang noted that it is the common mission of courts and notary organs to protect IP rights and guarantee scientific innovation; for that courts and notary organs should bear their corresponding responsibilities. According to him, in the context of a target to build a dispute resolving mechanism by multiple means, it is essential to enhance the work linkage between courts and notary organs, support notary organs to perform their duties according to the law, bring to full play the functions of notary organs in IP right dispute prevention and right guarantee, and their functions in such aspects as conflict resolving, evidence preserve, document delivery and execution.
