On the morning of April 13, Shanghai Intellectual Property Court held a case study workshop on the theme of “protecting technological innovation and promoting the optimization of business environment,” which was one of the IPR protection publicity campaigns held by the court around the World Intellectual Property Day to thoroughly implement the requirement of “whoever enforces the law is responsible for publicizing the law.” More than 30 representatives of enterprises from Zhangjiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone and over reportersfrom more than 20 media attended the workshop on invitation and received the Typical Cases of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court on Providing Judicial Guarantees for Building the Business Environment respectively. The casebook contained a total of 20 typical cases, involving disputes over trademark, unfair competition, copyright, patent, etc. By hearing these cases, Shanghai Intellectual Property Court has clarified the rules of judicial adjudication, given fully play to the role of typical cases in guiding, regulation, prevention and education, and promoted the creation of a law-based, international and facilitating business environment, so that enterprises can really feel the full and effective protection of intellectual property rights by the judiciary. At the workshop, business representatives and media reporters attended the hearing of a case concerning dispute over computer software copyright infringement, followed by the lecture on computer software protection by the presiding judge after the hearing. Chen Huizhen, full-time member of Judicial Committee of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court, explained some typical cases to the participants by PPT and answered the concerns of enterprise representatives and media reporters. The workshop was spoken highly of by the enterprise representatives. They said that the case study workshop focusing on the IPR projection during entrepreneurship and innovation was vivid, illustrative, impressive and of great help to enterprises, contributing to forming a goodatmosphere of respecting and protecting intellectual property rights in the whole society.
