On April 23, the Supreme People's Court ("SPC") held a discussion about the work of IP Judicial Protection Research Center and an academic seminar on IP judicial protection. More than 70 people from all over the country, including experts, scholars and judges from the IP theory and practice circles as well as figures from the arbitration and cultural circles, attended the meeting. Tao Kaiyuan, the vice president of SPC and director of the Academic Committee of IP Judicial Protection Research Center, issued letters of appointment to the members and researchers of the committee, and also delivered an important speech. Song Xiaoming, the head of SPC Intellectual Property Division and the executive deputy director of the Academic Committee of IP Judicial Protection Research Center, read out the decisions on the amendment of the articles of association and appointment of the academicmembers and researchers of the Research Center. Jiang Huiling, the director of SPC Applied Law Institute and the deputy director of the Academic Committee of IP Judicial Protection Research Center, presided over the meeting. President Wang Qiuliang, Vice President Li Shulan, Full-time Judicial Committee Member Chen Huizhen and Division Head Ding Wenlian of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court were appointed as researchers of the Research Center.
