On the morning of July 9, China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong organized the participants of Macau Young Legal Talents Workshop with a number of 20 people to visit Shanghai Intellectual Property Court for study. They are mainly practicing lawyers, law professors of universities and heads of legal research groups from Macao Special Administrative Region. Under the arrangement of the Court’s leaders, Qian Guangwen, the presiding judge of No. 2 Intellectual Property Tribunal, Xu Fei, a judge of No. 1 Intellectual Property Tribunal, Fan Jingbo, a judge of No. 2 Intellectual Property Tribunal etc. received the visiting guests. They visited the service center for lawsuit and watched a film about the work of the Court. In the process of panel discussion, the presiding judge Qian Guangwei introduced the trial work of the Court, the measures on the construction of science and innovation center for service assurance and other special work including “four-in-one” system of technical fact identification, diversified dispute settlement mechanism, hearing through remote video and further application of electronic dossier. The participants had an in-depth exchange with the judges with respect to the administrative and judicial dual-track system protection for intellectual property, the role and positioning of technical investigation officers in trial and how to realize the effective docking of lawsuit and investigation, how to solve the problems of long trial period, low compensation amount for intellectual property cases. The participants said that it was a rewarding trip and they benefited greatly from the visit and the panel discussion, gaining a deeper understanding of the judicial protection of intellectual property in Shanghai. They were impressed by the achievements of Shanghai Intellectual Property Court and said that they could learn a lot from its experiences and practices.
