Shanghai Intellectual Property Court Signed an Agreement with Two Industry Associations to Further Promote Entrusted Mediation of Intellectual Property Rights
 

On the morning of July 12, Shanghai Intellectual Property Court held the signing ceremony and work conference for “Collaboration Agreement of Establishing Multi-solving Mechanism” with the Intellectual Property Right Association of Shanghai Pudong New Area and Shanghai Online Game Industry Association. Under the arrangement of the Court's leaders, Qian Guangwen, the presiding judge of No. 2 Intellectual Property Tribunal, Chen Wei, the deputy presiding judge of Case Filing Chamber and the judge representatives of relevant departments attended the conference. The presiding judge Qian Guangwei was authorized by the Court's leaders to sign a collaboration agreement respectively with Ding Jitie, the president of the Intellectual Property Right Association of Shanghai Pudong New Area and Han Shuai, the secretary-general of Shanghai Online Game Association. The deputy presiding judge Chen Wei introduced the progress of establishing a diversified dispute settlement mechanism of Shanghai No.3 Intermediate People's Court (Shanghai Intellectual Property Court), and the two mediation organizations introduced respectively the practice of participating in the diversified dispute settlement, and expressed their determination to accomplish successfully the mediation work entrusted to them. With the joining of the two newly signed industry associations, the number of professional mediation organizations of intellectual property has reached 13, which further strengthens the team of entrusted mediation organizations of the Court. Shanghai Intellectual Property Court will assign personnel to work seamlessly with the mediation organizations. Giving full play to the advantages of professional mediation organizations and trade associations, and taking into consideration the features of intellectual property cases including high demand for expertise and a high proportion of technical disputes, it will enhance the communication between the mediation organizations and the judges, and support each other to jointly complete the entrusted mediation successfully, resulting in quick and efficient solution of disputes over intellectual property rights.
